Do all the good

Backpack Ministry called “Caring for Cardinals” packs bags full of nonperishable child-friendly food items twice each month on Wednesday mornings at 10:45 a.m. On Fridays at 9:30 we load up and deliver the bags to Sandy Valley schools to be distributed to students whose families need support. Anyone is welcome to join us in packing and/or delivering bags.

White Cross Ministry is a fairly new initiative at MUMC.  The Willing Workers group started making and distributing small white crosses in the spring of 2016.  Crosses are free to anyone willing to display them in their lawn or flower bed as an outward sign of their commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  The “cross factory” is open most days and anyone willing to help assemble, paint or wrap crosses is encouraged to stop by and help.

Willing Workers are a group of MUMC members and friends that enjoy showing God’s love in action.  They complete building and cleanup jobs for those in need.

Chancel Choir welcomes all singers to make a joyful noise to the Lord. Practice is held at 7:00 p.m. each Thursday for our performance during Sunday worship. The Chancel Choir does not meet during the summer.

Hand Bell Choir is open to anyone willing to learn.  No experience is necessary.  Practice is held at 6:00 p.m. each Thursday with performances scheduled periodically at all three Sandy Valley Regional Shared Ministry churches.  The Hand Bell Choir does not meet during the summer.

Men’s Breakfast is for all men and boys of the Church. We meet at Crossroads Restaurant starting at 7:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month for food and fellowship.

Nurture Committee is a group that plans events and activities that provide fun, faith and fellowship to our church family.  Some activities you could be a part of planning include family movie night, church picnics, our congregational Thanksgiving dinner, theater trips, ladies nights, and more.

Outreach Committee is a group that oversees activities that allow us to show God’s love to those outside our church family.

Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who knows how to knit or crochet or is interested in learning. Join us on the third Thursday of each month in the Youth Room at 9:30 a.m. We gather together to make the shawls and to pray over them and bless them before we pass them on to give comfort to those in physical and spiritual need. It is our hope that by wrapping a prayer shawl around one’s shoulders the person receiving the shawl will feel the presence of God’s love.

Vacation Bible School is usually held in the evening during the third week of July.  With over 100 kids attending, we need a large staff of volunteers to teach classes, assist classroom teachers, help with music, audio-visual needs, take photos, prepare snacks, plan and assist with crafts, organize games, and so much more.  We welcome all children ages 3 through 5th grade and all youth and adults willing to volunteer.
